The 2026 University of Chicago Black Conference will be hosted on

Saturday, May 2nd, at the Logan Performance Penthouse


The Conference is an annual event aimed at illuminating the intertwined narratives of the University of Chicago’s students, alumni, and faculty with the broader Hyde Park and South Side communities. Through thoughtful and respectful engagement, this one-day conference aspires to underscore the necessity for establishing a Black House on campus.

Our mission is to create a Black-centered space on campus that welcomes all students from any walk of life to engage in a communal space of belonging, service, and free expression with respect and care.

Since April 2022, The College's Organization of Black Students (OBS) and African and Caribbean Student Association (ACSA) have worked in collaboration with UChicago graduate schools, alumni, faculty/staff advocate for a Black Community Center on UChicago’s campus.
